Another Birthday

My knees, now they snap, then crackle and pop.

I walk somewhat slower, so noises will stop.

The brown spots I see on my face and my hands

Can bring out the blue in my eyes, or my veins.

The stiff, stretchy stockings are good for relief

Pulling them on worse than the swellings so brief

Trips to the bathroom all through the night,

Means mornings come later and I look a fright

Grateful for mornings, just not quite like before,

Late breakfast or lunch, then head to the store.

The years they march onward, walking the pace.

Life is still busy, and I’m in a slow race.

And if you’ve forgotten or haven’t kept score…

I’ve just had a birthday, now I’m 84!

A Guaranteed Good Day

Start off your day with a good look around, outside, inside.  What a glorious bit of blessings you have.  Thank Him for those.

People are my thing.  I love to hear their stuff–the problems, the joys, the clicks of what make them tick.  They love to share their stuff.  Take the time to listen, and you’ll be amazed at what you hear.  You’ll hear stories about family, friends, no friends, no family, or loneliness.  These are all inroads to a person’s heart that you can hear if you listen.
