I’m Myrna, and I love to write.  My mind is filled with how-to-do things, observing people, encouraging happiness, relating funny happenings, and sometimes, sharing sad times.  I notice the way people act when it doesn’t seem to agree with how they talk, or dress.  My head wonders why – all the time.

On these pages, you’ll find samples of writing I have done as a young wife and mother, newly divorced woman rejoining the ranks of the single woman, a married woman who was empowered to be… ME, and now, a widow who has many wonderful memories..    

Book: “Something Worth Saving” published by Tyndale House, now out of print; an autobiographical account of my marriage pending divorce, reuniting with my husband, subsequently divorcing, married again; and currently working on a follow-up book as an encouragement to others in the midst or aftermath of divorce;

Business Writing:  Conduct telephone interviews followed by preparation of business profiles of company and owner to familiarize the public with the company, thereby increasing profits; published in ASD Trade News (Association of Surplus Dealers) monthly, for 2-3 years; also create articles for local electric co-ops to enable public to understand purpose and procedures utilized by such co-ops; articles were published in REA (Rural Electric Association) newsletters; Currently writing light and humorous shorts on communicating with people while working “in the field”.

Brochures:  Design and create Sales Brochures to publicize company and describe featured sales items, mail-outs to nation-wide customer lists, adding return coupons to increase customer base and document success of sales brochures;  Design and create Seminar Brochures to stimulate attendance at writing seminars, showcase speakers featured and classes held, send mail-outs with tear out registration coupons for return mail indicating success of Seminar and increased registration as a result of brochure mailing;

Greeting Cards: Originate Greeting Card Line Ideas and create individual cards needed to fill in the Line; submit to secular and inspirational companies, to add to their greeting card lines;

Inspirational Writing: Articles published in Christian and secular publications, offering positive options to people going through problems and needing to find hope; sold to Sunday School bulletins, Christian and secular magazines;

Music: Create Words and Music and performed duets with my husband, at public gatherings, using recorded sound tracks of my original music;

Humor: Currently writing humorous book on “vanity” license tags which includes chapters showing how a tag’s slogan can be indicative of the driver’s attitude, lifestyle, work, and faith;  Humor is a part of everything I write.

Poetry: Design, create, print and frame personalized poetry on contract for individuals, utilizing details from friends or family of the recipient, in format for wall or desk
